01Mission
Promote Freedom empowers communities by supporting efforts to secure freedom, justice and democratic governance. We provide essential resources — funding, training and partnerships — for individuals and organisations defending human rights in regions facing oppression and political pressure.
Our mission reaches beyond borders. We connect people who take responsibility for their societies, support grassroots movements and civil society, and work for lasting change where it is needed most.

We champion the values free societies stand on: democracy, the rule of law and individual responsibility. We work for a society where all people are equal before the law, have unalienable rights, and can pursue life, free speech and justice — for the generations after us too.

People
A small team across Europe and the United States, with experience in human rights, law, advocacy and organising. We work directly with local partners.
Founder & Director
International lawyer. Master’s in International Law (Ivan Franko National University of Lviv), post-master’s and PhD in international and European law (Saarland University). Speaks seven languages. Founded Promote Ukraine in Brussels in 2014.
President
Licensed pharmacist with a Master of Science and an MBA from IESE Business School. Senior management roles in private and non-profit organisations. Long-time advocate for children’s rights. Based in Washington, DC.
Secretary
BA in International Studies, School of International Service, American University. Research on human trafficking in Eastern Europe and democracy promotion.
Treasurer
International advocacy and community engagement. Board Member training certificate, Cornerstone Foundation.
Design
Design Lead with more than ten years in product design and UX, focused on human-computer interaction and research.
We are always open to welcoming like-minded people who share our commitment to freedom and human rights.
03Where we are
We run our programmes with a focus on Europe and the United States, from offices in Brussels and Los Angeles. Much of our work happens online and through local partners, so we can support people where we have no office.
Next, we test a new way to grow: Munich is our first pilot for local circles, run by people who live there. If it works, other cities follow.
